Description: The YTED Food Sovereignty Program is soliciting proposals from qualified building contractors to design and build two traditional smokehouses and six small community food pantries; modeled after Yurok traditional houses. These facilities will strengthen community-based food processing, preservation, and provide food for the community in alignment with the Tribe’s long-term food sovereignty and community resilience goals. All structures will incorporate Yurok Tribal architecture, utilizing local and culturally appropriate materials as available, design elements, and building techniques.
